About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom to two adorable little boys, a wife to my first love, daycare provider for my school-aged cousins, the creative activities coordinator for my local MOPS group, and working towards being a certified International Wedding and Event Planner. Any "free" moment I have, I find joy in working on any creative media. I like to sew, crochet, paint, draw, and hot glue anything I can get my crafty little hands on. About 10 years ago, I also began assisting my mom in throwing parties for various friends and family members. She had experience in the catering business and, with her ability to whip together a bow or centerpiece and to make custom cakes, she became the unofficial party planner in our very large family. Working alongside her, I quickly picked up her tips and then took off running with my own ideas. And, after much encouragement from friends and family, I have decided to follow their advice and  pursue a professional career in my ever-increasing passion for parties and crafts.

I believe God gives us certain passions and abilities and calls us to use them for Him. I want the things I make and the parties I design to bless the recipients and guests. That's why the quote by Erma Bombeck at the top of my page stands as a mission statement for me: When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and could say, 'I used everything you gave me'

It is my hope to share my crafts, showcase my parties, meet fellow crafty moms and party planners, and build up my business, all while caring for the most important guys in my life. It's because of my husband and, especially my sons, that I created Sonny Side Up.
